For us, good design is design that pays attention to typographic detail. We love to get involved in projects with complex information to present in a clear, intelligent and beautiful way. Newspapers, exhibitions, magazines, annual reports, catalogues, museum guides and books fall into this catagory.
Project: Catalogue and exhibition graphics for Bacons’s Eye, works on paper attributed to Francis Bacon from the Barry Joule Archive, 2001
Client: Barbican and 21 publishing
The exhibition featured news clippings that had been worked on with mixed media. We art directed photography of the work, designed the catalogue and binding and produced the exhibition graphics and directional signs. The masthead and title to the exhibition was in keeping with the work: deliberately torn, folded and scratched.
