Sara Chapman has been trading as the letter g since 1996. After more than twenty years as a hands-on designer Sara Chapman can wear these hats: graphic designer, typographer, type designer, illustrator, copywriter, calligrapher and signwriter, art director, information re-structurer, brand developer, print buyer, and project manager. She enjoys creating clear, accessible, friendly and creative stuff for (almost) anyone, but has a particular fondness for projects that involve type, education, charities, English heritage and children.
She is Teaching Fellow at The Department of Typography, University of Reading.
Sara has worked closely for some years with flexible team of associates:
Jill Hislam is an illustrator and graphic designer and studio-mate. They collaborate on digital, book and brand projects. They can't collaborate on illustration projects where Jill is in a world on her own…
Phil Treble is a typographer and web-designer with over fifteen years experience in both. He specialises in clean, accessible coding with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and attention to detail and consistency in design. He has a BA in Typography, University of Reading, 1995, and was winner of the re-design competition for the Guild of Accessible Web Designers (GAWDS), 2004.
Andrew Gardiner takes the stress out of any large project with his expertise in design project management. He has a industrial photographic training and a background in design for workplace, retail, exhibitions & displays, signage and lighting. He is a member of the Chartered Society of Designers.
